We came to the town of Agua Blanca on the Oaxaca coast ten years ago in search of the best place to build the residence of our dreams, a place where we could rest, have fun and be inspired.

At first we thought about building our house next to the Pacific Ocean, but we realized that we needed to combine security with comfort in our refuge, so we explored a solid location. We find it on a hill that rises just two hundred meters from the beach, which allows you to gaze at the landscape from above. At that time the land on the top was occupied by a single plum tree.

The vast expanse was tempting but we needed to identify the best place to build our residence. When exploring the terrain we found near the edge of the promontory an object that surprised and fascinated us: a stone carved by some ancient settler to turn it into a basin of water, filled with crystalline liquid from a recent rain. Under the intense sun, when we introduced our hands into the refreshing liquid stored in the archaic vessel, we knew that this was the location to make our dream a magnificent work. And in memory of that symbol that told us where to build the residence, we baptized the lodging as Piedra de Agua.
